From the downtown area where tall buildings stand in great numbers to the romantic Love River where breeze blows over steadily, “Kaohsiung Film Archive”, a beautiful building standing by the riverside, reminds me of the feelings of my first movie, a mix of confusion, excitement and expectation.
　　Confused by the vivid images on the screen; excited about the cliffhanger story and beautiful soundtrack; hoping good people will have a happy ending and lovers will be together forever; expecting thrilling frames and warm settings; tears for helpless tragedy and smiles for happy ending; I think that is why films are so enchanting.
　　Kaohsiung Film Archive is also as attractive as films. To highlight the light-and-shadow composition of a film, the Film Archive adopts transparent glass curtain wall and colorful lights. Set off by bright light and shinning water, it is the best stage for light and shadow.
　　Once at the riverside, you will be attracted by the unique architecture, friendly volunteers and well-organized activities. Various themed film festivals and exhibitions are offered to the public, including artistic films, commercial films, documentaries, and animations. We intend not only to provide a place full of information and entertainment, but also to ignite the public’s enthusiasm toward films through film seminars, local filming documentary and film-related exhibitions, bringing energy of film art to southern Taiwan.
　　The hard work has yielded positive results. Attracting more than 1 million visitors during last 4 years, the Film Archive is not only the pride of Kaohsiung City Government, but also the proof that the public enjoys artistic activities.
