Construction achievements can be the criterion to judge city developments.
Construction Office is one of the main organizations responsible for various public
constructions promoted by Kaohsiung City Government. We not only take up road,
bridge, square and public building constructions, but also endeavor to fulfill Mayor’s
promises concerning public construction development which was made during the
campaign period in order to meet citizens’ expectations. For promoting Kaohsiung to
be an international maritime capital, we are carrying out several important projects as
below: Zhong-bo Vision Bridge, 1 to 3 stage construction of Kaohsiung Museum of
Fine Arts, express road construction on Cueihua Rd. Section, Wetland Park
reconstruction, Singuang Station perimeter construction, access road construction of
Zuoying Station of THSR, decoration construction of Vision for Kaohsiung, BOT
project on Kaohsiung Arena, access road system construction of harbor district, ramp
to north construction on Dingjin System Interchange, access road system construction
of Haiguang Village, BOT project on Parking Tower of north Cianjin district, project
on freeway and Kaohsiung International Airport traffic network, and so forth. Up to
now, above-mentioned projects are carrying out step by step and most constructions
are continually achieved in accordance with Mayor’s wish and guarantee to citizens.
Day and night, a deluge of people go to Art Park, Vision Bridge, and Singuang
Station to go jogging, go walking, take photos, and go for a date or for views. Those
constructions have become great resorts for people to release life pressure, which
proves our efforts and meets our expectations.
Recently, as City Government continually carries out several important
constructions, which certainly increase Government’s financial burden, it makes
extreme difficulties to raise funds for every construction. Thus, it becomes a
necessary policy for City Government to encourage non-governmental organizations
to join City Government’s projects under the needs and principles of balanced
development. In order to accelerate the connection between Kaohsiung City and the
world, we endeavor to operate BOT projects on Kaohsiung Arena and Parking Tower
of north Cianjin district, and to combine the gym and parking lot with restaurants,
retailers, and creational facilities with non-governmental organization funds, which
makes a more multi-functional living environment.
To plan and operate City constructions in foresighted views and cautious attitude is
always our strong demand and expectation to every working member. All the
proceeding constructions also follow this principle to achieve safe, economical and
high-quality goals before scheduled time. Through construction achievements, people
can see and understand the beauty and development potential of Kaohsiung City and
then take a further step to make it a more competitive modern city.
Moreover, during the process of developing a modern Kaohsiung City, we not only
endeavor to keep sustainability of nature by ecological engineering but also enhance
the value of Kaohsiung City as an ecological city, which are all in accordance with
City Government’s “Tertiary Quality Assurance” policy.
